St Anne’s sports reports

Cup

The girl’s football team played in a cup match at home against Bromley Heath on Friday 18th October 2019.

Team line up: Maisie, Katie, Floss, Maisie, Olivia, Emily, Violet, Grace and Lily-Rose.

St Anne’s did everyone proud working well as a team giving each other great encouragement whilst learning a lot from the game. The final score was 6-0 to Bromley Heath.  Thank you to all our supporters for coming along to cheer us on.

 

League

The girl’s football team played their first league game, away against The Park on Monday 11th November 2019.

Team line up: Erin, Ava, Lotti, Maisie, Katie, Floss, Emily, Grace, Lily-Rose and Violet.

A great effort by the team on a cold Monday afternoon. St Anne’s won 3-0. Goals scored by Maisie and Grace.  A good performance by both teams. Thank you to all our supporters who came along to watch.

 

Tournament

Team line up: Katie, Maisie, Floss, Violet, Olivia, Grace, Lily-Rose, Emily and Maisie

The girl’s team took part in a tournament at Yate Academy run my South Gloucestershire PE Association. They enjoyed travelling in style by minibus. They played three matches in a mini league. Although they did not go onto the next round, they gained more experience and had the opportunity to see others play. The team are looking forward to their next league match. Thank you to our supporters who encouraged us all the way.

Sports report from the girl's football team

The girl’s football team played their first home game against The Park on Monday 19th November 2018.

Team line up: Rebecca, Maisie, Tilly, Maisie, Floss, Violet, Ellie, Katie, Grace, Charlotte and Aliesha.

A great effort by the team on a cold Monday afternoon. There were no goals in the first half but The Park scored three in the second half. A good performance by both teams. Thank you to all our supporters to came along to watch.

 

The girl’s played their second away match at Bromley Heath on Friday 23rd November 2018.

Team line up: Lotti, Gabi, Emily, Madison, Grace, Aliesha, Neve, Charlotte, Katie, Lily-Rose and Ellie.

They enjoyed travelling to the away school by minibus. The girls were up against an experienced team who have been successful in the South Gloucestershire cup competition; however, St Anne’s did everyone proud working well as a team giving each other great encouragement whilst learning a lot from the game. The final score was 7-0 to Bromley Heath.

 

The girl’s played their second home game against Hambrook on Monday 26th November 2018.Team line up: Lotti, Gabi, Emily, Madison, Grace, Aliesha, Charlotte, Katie, Lily-Rose and Ellie. It was an evenly balanced match with both teams playing well. Excitement grew towards the end of the first half with Hambrook being awarded a penalty but Charlotte made a great save! The match finished 0-0. Thank you to all our supporters for coming along to cheer us on.

Tag Rugby Tournament

On Wednesday 10th October 2018 St Anne’s went along to a tag rugby tournament run by South Gloucestershire PE Association. The event took place at Aretians RFC and it was a beautiful sunny morning.

Team line up: Grace, Molly, Hayden, Miles, Theo. Charlie, Thomas, Harry, Wyatt and Declan.

The team played four exciting games in their group during the morning. They did not progress further to the next round but had an enjoyable morning. They worked well as part of a team and represented the school well.

 

Girl's Football Match

The girl’s football team travelled away to Yate Academy on Thursday 11th October 2018 for a football tournament run by South Gloucestershire PE Association.

Team line up: Katie, Charlotte, Lotti, Katie, Aliesha, Gabi, Maisie, Grace, Josie and Maisie.

The girls enjoyed four exciting games in their group during the afternoon learning each time from their previous games. They worked well as part of a team and represented the school very well. Unfortunately, they did not go through to the quarterfinals but had a great time. Well done to all the girls who took part and thank you to our St Anne’s supporters. They took time to observe the other teams to support their development and they are looking forward to working on different skills in future training sessions. The girl’s also enjoyed meeting three Bristol Rovers players who gave them lots of encouragement.

News from the girl's football team

The girl’s football team travelled away to Barrs Court on Friday 5th October 2018 for their first league match.

Team line up: Katie, Floss, Emily, Katie, Aliesha, Tilly, Grace and Lily-Rose.

 

The girls enjoyed an exciting first game in the sunshine on Friday afternoon. After having only been training together twice they worked brilliantly as a team, cheering each other on from good passes to great saves and well-deserved goals. Barrs Court played very well and were a great team to play against. The matched finished 7-3 to Barrs Court. Goals for St Anne’s came from Grace scoring twice in the first half and Lily-Rose who scored in the second half.

 

Well done to all the girls who took part and thank you to all our St Anne’s supporters. We are already looking forward to our next game.
