St Anne's CE VC Primary School Respect Responsibility Friendship Excellence

Book Week (23rd-27th November 20)

What a lot of fantastic book character costumes we saw on Monday!

We celebrated the start of Book Week with a hot chocolate and a story from our teacher.

Our Book Fair will run from Monday 23rd November through to Thursday 3rd December.

To celebrate our school’s Book Week, we are holding an online Book Fair beginning Monday 23rd November until Thursday 3rd December. This Book Fair will give you the opportunity to browse and purchase books online while gaining commission for our school. In the past, with the commission we have received from the books, we have been able to buy some fabulous dictionaries, classroom book sets and library books. Our children have always really looked forward to the Book Fair arriving and it is a shame we can’t host this in school but hopefully this will be an alternative way for children to find out about new titles.

To order your books, please follow the steps below:

  1. Browse through the books in the online leaflet and at https://bookfairs.scholastic.co.uk/travelling-books/parents
  2. Use the order form to make a note of the books you would like to order.
  3. Call the secure telephone line on 0330 088 5756 and quote the school ID code 20201893.
  4. Write down on your form the reference number you are given.
  5. Afterwards, send the order form with the reference number, your book titles and quantity into school for us to place the order.
  6. Your books will then be delivered to the school.

St Anne’s Reading Challenge

To celebrate all the reading you are doing at home, why not have a go at our Reading Challenge and see if you can grab yourself a prize! Your challenge is to read at least 4 times each week for at least 10 minutes each time.

  1. Read at home as often as you can and record it in your reading record, getting a parent to sign it.
  2. If you manage to read 4 times or more in a week, your teacher will put a sticker on the class reading challenge display and will give you a raffle ticket.
  3. At the end of term, the raffle prize draw will take place!
  4. Happy reading and don’t forget to ask a parent to sign your reading record.
