Home learning January 2021

Hello Year 3, we all hope you are well and that you have had a good holiday. Many thanks for all of our lovely cards and gifts, your thoughtfulness and generosity have meant a great deal.

We are very sad that we will not be seeing you all at  school for a while, however we are looking forward to seeing all of your amazing home learning - please ask an adult to help you send it into the school office email.  We are hoping that very soon we will have a new way of learning online which will allow us to receive our work easily and for us to feedback to you....watch this space for more information. In the meantime keep checking the website for your daily activities. Please follow the suggested timetable as best you can. If you are finding the activities really difficult, please use the SEN Resources folder.

We will be calling regularly to see how you're all getting on and hope to be able to talk to you on the phone. (Sometimes this might be on the school number or if we are calling from home it might show as a private or with held number).  Don't forget that if you have any questions or worries we can be contacted via the school office.

Stay Safe,

Mrs Clothier, Miss Horseman & Miss Gorvin.

Happy New Year!

PE is outdoors this term. Can we also remind you that long hair will need to be tied back and earrings removed.

FOREST SCHOOL

In TERM 3 Children of Keyworkers attending school will have a  Forest School session on TUESDAY 12/1, 19/1, 26/1 and 2/2.

Children will need to wear their school uniform but need to bring waterproof trousers, waterproof coat and wellies so that these can be worn over their uniforms.

HOMEWORK

Your child has received a book in which they will complete their weekly home learning task.  Due to the current restrictions in place we will unfortunately have to ask that the book remains at home for the time being. Each week a new sheet detailing the spellings and task set by your child's teacher will be sent home. Please support your child in completing the activities in their homework book. If you wish to send a photograph or electronic version of your child' s home learning please do so via the school office.

Many thanks for your continued support and understanding.

Terms 1 and 2

Reading Diaries and Reading Challenge

  • Reading diaries are sent home on Monday and returned to school on Friday

  • Through the week, please record in the reading diary each time your child reads.  Ideally, this will be their their reading book from school.
  • The reading diaries need to be returned to school every Friday, please, in order for us to quarantine them before checking the child's reading frequency and returning the diaries home the following Monday.
  • As soon as your child has finished with a school book please return it to school so we can quarantine it before returning it to the central stock. We will endeavour to issue a new book to your child as soon as possible.
  • Our reading challenge is starting which means children need to be reading at least 4 times a week at home. Hopefully, your child will read other material such as favourite books at home or books online, especially over the weekend so please also record this in the diaries when you have them.
