Welcome to Year 5!
Welcome to the webpage for classes 11 and 12.
Here you can keep up to date with our learning journey and find out what we have been doing and what we will be doing in the future. Please keep checking to see our amazing work!
Miss Karon and Miss Lawrence
Welcome back! We hope you have all had a wonderful break and are refreshed and ready for lots of fun-filled activities and learning this half term!
The children will need to wear their PE kit (rain or shine) to school every Monday during Term 2.
Children will need to wear a plain red or white t-shirt, plain jogging bottoms or shorts and a plain jumper as well as trainers.
Homework will be sent out every Friday and you will be able to access this from the school website. Each week a new sheet detailing the spellings and task will be set by the Year 5 teachers. Your child will be sent home with a book in which they will complete their weekly home learning task. Due to the current restrictions in place we will unfortunately have to ask that the homework book remains at home for the time being. If you wish to send a photograph or electronic version of your child's home learning please do so via the school office.
Year 5 have a block of Forest School sessions on the dates below. Children will need to come to school in Forest School appropriate clothing NOT school uniform. They need long sleeved tops and long trousers, bringing with them waterproofs to go over the top and wellies. Warm clothes are also essential as it gets colder (hats and gloves).
Class 11 - Tuesdays PM - 10th and 17th November OR 24th November and 1st December.
Class 12 - Thursdays PM - 12th and 19th November OR 26th November and 3rd December.
Times Table Rockstars!
Please log onto TTRockstars to practice your times tables. There will be a range of different battles between classes, starting with a times table battle between Class 11 and Class 12! Good luck and have fun!
Reading Diaries and Reading Challenge
Please record in the reading diary each time your child reads. This can be either their reading book from school or a book/ magazine that they enjoy reading at home. The reading diaries need to be returned to school every Friday along with any finished school reading books please in order for us to quarantine and check reading frequency.
Our reading challenge is starting which means children need to be reading 4 times a week at home - please record this in the red diaries. If your child reads other material such as books at home or books online, especially over the weekend when school books are returned to school, please also record this in the diaries.
Thank you for your cooperation and support.
Miss Karon and Miss Lawrence.
