Year 2

SCIENCE DAY-01.07.22-YEAR 2

On Friday 1st July, Year 2 took part in a county-wide Science Day. We had to investigate 'What makes a good birds nest?' They took part in making their own nests from a variety of materials. We then tested the effects of strong weather (snow, wind, rain) on the nests to see which survived. Have a look at some of the photos below:

In class today we have had fun creating and editing music using computer software.
The children wanted the link so that they can have a go at home.

Enjoy!

Reminders for the term:
Homework
Homework will be sent home every Friday and needs to be returned the following Thursday. It will be posted onto google classrooms each week. Homework will consist of learning the spelling rule and also a task relating to our learning that week. Children are also encouraged to use spelling shed and times table rock stars. We will provide children with their logins when they return to school.

Spellings
Children will be taught a spelling rule during the week and it will be their task to learn that rule for their homework. On Fridays we will then test the children on that spelling rule.

Reading
We will be encouraging children to read four times a week at home. Please ensure you record this in your child's reading record. We will check the reading records each week to see which children have read four times, these children will then receive a raffle ticket with a chance to win a prize at the end of the term. The class which have the highest number of children reading four times will receive a trophy during our assembly.
