St Anne's CE VC Primary School Respect Responsibility Friendship Excellence

Special Educational Needs & Disabilities

At St Anne’s Primary School we aim to provide a friendly, nurturing environment, which allows all children to thrive in all areas. Any child can experience difficulties with their learning during their time in school, and we endeavour to provide equal access to the whole curriculum for all children. This includes those with Special Educational Needs and/or Disabilities (SEND). All teaching staff are involved in the learning and development of pupils with SEND, and we work in partnership with parents and carers at all stages.

We aim to ensure that every child with SEND is identified and provided for as early as possible. We will support each child in achieving their full potential, developing independence and positive learning behaviour. We closely monitor the progress of all our children which enables us to provide additional support and/or a differentiated curriculum where needed and this may be different from that provided for other children of the same age.

The Special Educational Needs and Disabilities Co-ordinator (SENDCo) is Mrs Pearce.

Our governor responsible for monitoring the SEND provision is Mr Kenny.
