Home Learning Activities

We would like to thank you all for your continued support with the home learning activities that have been set. It has been fantastic to celebrate some of the home learning that has been e-mailed into school, the teachers have been very impressed and have enjoyed uploading this onto the class pages so that this can be celebrated with their friends as it would have been in class. As always, we recommend that the children have a timetable that is agreed and stuck to, there are some suggested timetables on our 'Home Learning' page. The teachers will continue to set work each week, please use this to structure each day. You can access the home learning on the relevant year group pages. We have also included additional supporting resources, activities and website links which we feel will further support your child during the school closure.

NEW RESOURCES

We are continuing to update our 'Learning Resources' section of the website. This week we have added some activities and ideas for Music and PSHE.  If any parents are wanting to have a sing or usually attend a choir but can’t at the moment, then Mrs Quinn is running a virtual choir at 8.00 on a Wednesday evening.  The zoom meeting starts 10 minutes before as everyone joins and then the singing starts at 8.00 for about 40 minutes.  If you are at all interested (or you are aware of someone in your community who enjoys singing or is feeling a bit lonely at this time) then please just email the school with details of your email address and you will receive a zoom invite each week.  All welcome!

The COVID-19 Time Capsule Workbook

The workbook contains 11 sheets, each with its own activity. It has been created to help children make sense of what's happening. The time capsule workbook was created by Natalie Long, a graphic designer. You will find this below in our 'Learning Resources' section.

“We are all living through history and something I have said I wanted to do from the beginning is make a keepsake of this moment for us to look back on. Bringing up the subject and talking through things is one of the main reasons I created these designs in the first place.” wrote Natalie.

CORONAVIRUS- A Book For Children

We have recently uploaded a book that you can read with your family, which supports children's understanding of the Coronavirus. There are also several website links included for you to explore. This has been uploaded on the 'Letters to Parents' page.

Maths Challenges

In addition to the year group activities we have also set up a 'Maths Challenge' page. Here you will find a range of mathematical puzzles and challenges to complete, the aim is to work together as a family to solve these. The puzzles with be posted for 2-3 days, after this time the answers will be uploaded! Have fun!!

Regular Physical Activity

Joe Wicks leads an exercise for children every morning at 9am so this may be worth a Google to ensure the children have regular daily exercise.

Reading Challenge

Don't forget to check out our new 'Reading Challenges' and updates in the Learning and Teaching section of the website.

Pupils with SEND

For pupils with special educational needs, which include both 'Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCP's) and 'Individual Education Plans' (IEP's), information that you may find useful during the school closure period will be uploaded by Mrs Bye and the class teachers. You will find this in the SEN section below.

Keep in contact

If you have any questions or require any support with the home learning activities please do get in touch with the class teacher(s) via the school e-mail address. We hope you enjoyed the class letters from the teachers finding out what they have been up to during this time away from you. Please continue to send your letters in. Remember to keep checking the class pages, you may recognise some of the work, photographs or letters!
